About Us

The Riverside Cabin is our family-owned mountain retreat in the Peaceful Valley / Allenspark area of Boulder County, tucked between Rocky Mountain National Park and the Roosevelt National Forest at about 8,000 feet.

We are Don and Vonda Downs, with Caleb and Shelby helping us host and care for the cabin. Our goal is simple: to offer a warm, well-kept Colorado mountain home where guests can rest, reconnect, explore, and enjoy the quiet beauty of this valley.

The cabin sits near the Middle St. Vrain Creek, with mountain views, frequent wildlife, a wrap-around deck, a private hot tub, cathedral windows, a fully equipped kitchen, dedicated workspace, Wi-Fi, and comfortable sleeping space for up to 7 guests. Wild Basin and Rocky Mountain National Park are close by, with Estes Park, Nederland, Eldora, and the Peak to Peak Scenic Byway all within an easy mountain drive.

This is not a generic rental. It is a place our family loves and continues to improve, and we want guests to feel that care from the moment they arrive. Whether you come for hiking, skiing, fishing, quiet mornings, family time, or a simple break from the Front Range, we hope The Riverside Cabin feels like a true mountain refuge.
